Why does it only run for 8 weeks?

The program runs for 8 weeks to cater for opportunity for children to be able to have the opportunity for make up days in the event of absence. Starting in a new environment for most children isn’t ‘perfect‘ and there will be some areas that they will need support with. We have both taught hundreds of children so we have a range of strategies to support children. We will work alongside you to see how we can best support children.

Can I stay in the room with them?

We are very transparent in the services we provide, including this program. We won’t hurry you out the door but we do have an intentional time for children to transition into the program. Please let us know if you have any questions/concerns with this.

We welcome parents to take full advantage of the nature of this service. Conveniently located in a shopping centre we welcome you to run errands, eat a meal alone, or simply, just enjoy the amenities of South.Point during this time.

We kindly ask you to pack the following; backpack, hat, spare changes of clothes, drink bottle, medication (as per medical management plan), fruit break snack & lunch box. Please see parent handbook for further information.

My child isn’t toilet-trained, can they still attend?

Of course. We know that Preschools and Kindergartens will expect children to be toilet-trained, but we know that some children will require some support with this. We have bathroom facilities to help change children if necessary.

Do you focus on educational concepts?

We do. The primary focus on what we provide is to help children develop foundational skills to set them up for success. Our key areas to do this is to support them to develop their social skills, emotional skills, and self-help skills to help foster independence with routines. We provide educational activities in our sessions also which can be differentiated for each child.

What happens if you think my child isn’t ready for Preschool/Kindergarten?

Our program is to provide support to children to build upon their existing skills to support their transition into Preschool/Kindergarten. It isn’t up to us to decide which steps you choose next as a parent but rather, provide support to you and refer you to other services that may be able to provide additional support.

Do I receive a report at the end?

We will provide you with a child statement once the program is completed. We will go through this with you to see if there are areas in which your child may need some support.

Will you be running your other services the same time as this program?

No. We only run one service at a time to give it our full attention as we believe in high-quality services.

How many children will be in the program?

We will cap our program at 15 children.
