For parents and caregivers, The Learning Nest Co is the child and family centre that delivers flexible, supportive care arrangements because every household has unique needs. Unlike traditional care models, The Learning Nest Co offers nurturing, play-based learning with educational benefits and a strong sense of community.
Our philosophy
What sets us apart?
As Company Directors, we work directly with children and families at the centre everyday. Our practice comes from a decade each of hands-on experience which shapes our service delivery. Our deep, practical knowledge is reflected in how we plan our Crèche services to how we connect with each child and their family.
Every part of our program is designed with purpose; age-appropriate, developmentally meaningful, and grounded in best practice. We operate with clear, thorough policies and procedures - not because we’re required to, but because we believe families deserve consistency, safety, and transparency. It’s our way of setting a high standard and creating a space that runs with the care and structure all children deserve.
We’re fully certified in First Aid and CPR, hold current Working With Vulnerable People registration (which can be sighted on request), and - just as importantly - we’re mums ourselves. We get it - the trust it takes to leave your child in someone else’s care, and how important it is that they feel safe, seen, and supported. That’s why The Learning Nest Co is a purpose-built service where children can thrive, and families feel right at home.
Meet the Team
With six children under six between them, Shannon and Leonie find managing busy, energetic groups to be second nature - they truly understand the joys (and chaos) of early childhood and parenting.
-
Director & Co-FounderShannon brings over 15 years teaching experience working with young children, and many more coaching young dancers. She has a special passion for storytelling and creating fun, hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity. She enjoys play-based learning so much, her weekend hobbies look suspiciously like her workday ones!
-
Director & Co-FounderWith a passion for everything education, Leonie has been working in the education space since 2009. Having worked with people of all ages - from babies through to late adulthood - her interests are education in the early years and opportunities for family and community support. With As a mum to two young boys, she sees the value in having access to a service which supports children’s curiosity for learning, and an opportunity for parent self-care too!
